Grand Hotel des Balcons
A flight of steps leads to this peaceful street of Saint-Germain des Prés. The Odeon and Luxembourg Gardens are a short walk away.
Since the end of the 19th century, a discreet façade decorated with small balconies, the reason for its name, hides a small family hotel.
The poets, Henri Michaux and Endré Ady, the Hungarian Baudelaire, wrote here.
The doorway, with feminine curves, reveals a well-preserved universe of Art Nouveau: bronze work, stained-glass windows speckled with dark purple irises, tulip-shaped molten glass lamps and chandeliers.
